Did you attend a local summer camp and complete classes? Send Mrs. De Armas your blue cards!

Posted by cgruebel on Jul 21 2021 - 3:15pm

Scouts please ask for or download any blue cards for MB classes you took this summer and email to Mrs. De Armas or drop off at my house. If you don’t send them, then I don’t know you took them.

Merit Badge Counselor List and Application forms

Posted by cgruebel on Jul 21 2021 - 3:14pm

Here is a list of merit badge counselors. Look in Scoutbook and if you have any partials, you should try to finish them this summer. Anytime you want to take a Merit Badge class, you first email the Scoutmaster (Mr. De Armas at scoutmastermario@gmail.com) to ask for approval and he issues you a blue card. He will also copy me, Mrs. Thiery, and Ms. Amanda so we know what class you are taking and we can assign you a MB counselor.

Welcome New MB Counselor Coordinator, Mrs. Thiery

Posted by cgruebel on Jul 21 2021 - 3:13pm

Scouts please welcome Mrs. Thiery! She is our amazing new Merit Badge Coordinator, taking over for Ms. Amanda. We have been so lucky to have Ms. Amanda working hard on MBs, classes and with the counselors for all these years, however she will be moving out of the area and we will miss her very much! Thankfully Mrs. Thiery has volunteered for this position, yay!

Opportunity for Catholic Scouts to earn a religious knot

Posted by cgruebel on Jul 21 2021 - 3:11pm

A Counselor for the Catholic Religious Emblem will be offering the Ad Altare Dei (AAD) program this summer and in the fall. The program follows a workbook and requires meetings with the Counselor (these will be a hybrid of virtual and in-person). You can expect to work on AAD for 5-8 months as there are multiple requirements that must be met over a period of weeks, and in-person attendance at sacraments are highly encouraged (Baptism, Confirmation, Ordination). The program also requires attendance at a retreat and a board of review. Scouts must have completed 6th grade to participate. Recognition for Scouts working on and earning the award is celebrated at the annual Scout Mass at the Cathedral of St. Ignatius with Bishop Barbarito. The cost of the program is $26 which includes the workbook and the AAD medal.
